FAQ

Below are some common questions of our clients we have been asked before. If you have any other questions, please feel free to use the form to send them to us.

Ask Your Question

Sometimes, as needed. However, our practice is not about exercises.

Qigong in this case refers to a hand-healing method that is administered to you by a practitioner, and each Qigong session may include other modalities as required - usually a massage at the very least, however we may also apply cupping, moxibustion, acupuncture, gua-sha… We normally prescribe herbal pills to take at home until the next session, and sometimes we do prescribe a Qigong or Yoga exercise as a homework. However, that will totally depend on your condition and the best way we think we can help you.

The sessions tend to take 1 to 1.5 hours.

It is normally a longer session the very first time when we are trying to weave the pattern of your problem, and ask a lot of questions about you, your condition and your environment. This is the time when you can share as much as you want about yourself, and we encorage you to do so in order for us to direct the treatment with precision and depth.

This very much depends on your condition, and especially on how long have you had it for.

It may only take one session to reverse an acute or recently established condition. However, if the problem has been there for a few years - then expect it to take a few sessions to resolve. Lately however, the Qigong practice has become so efficient that most problems are resolved within 1 to 3 sessions.

Yes, please!

Please contact us to book in advance, especially if you want to come to the City clinic. In this case, if you cancel your appointment within 24 hours, a $30 cancellation fee applies to cover the costs incurred by the clinic spaces we use. Cancellations made more promptly incur no extra fees. We hope you understand that.

Not necessarily.

The removal of some clothes is only necessary if Acupuncture, Cupping, Gua-Sha or oil massage are administered, which is not always the case. If you do need to remove them, we will cover you with the towels and make sure your privacy is not affected. We abide by the Acupuncture NZ Code of Professional Ethics when it comes to matters like that.

Absolutely not.

We take privacy very seriously, abide by New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and will never share or expose your personal data to anyone, unless you have commissioned us to do so - e.g. to share it with a GP or other practitioner. Occasionally we may ask you for an anonymous feedback, and if you are willing to provide it - all personal details including your name and location will be stripped off from it as agreed with you.

ACC only covers Acupuncture following an injury or a fall, and only when administered in a specific way - by stipulating exactly which points can be used for each particular condition. In order to give you a complete and holistic experience of our integrative method, and deliver the premium service and results you deserve, we cannot constrain ourselves with these strict ACC treatment protocols.

We have also found that the people who receive free treatments do not usually value them, and do not actively participate in their healing process, which we consider crucial for success. The good news however is that ACC Acupuncture has become a commodity service nowadays, and there are so many ACC treatment providers in NZ or in Auckland in particular. So, if you want to have a session of the standard ACC Acupuncture - please Google to find an ACC treatment provider.
