According to most prominent media sources, the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus that caused a significant impact on the society around the globe, was first detected in Hubei province of China at the end of 2019. China was the first country in the world to experience its effects and was at the frontier of the world’s response. According to statistical sources, the response was quite efficient compared to other countries. China is also one of the countries where traditional medicine is integrated with the modern hospital-based healthcare and delivered alongside. Could this be one of the factors contributing to China’s success? In this article we reflect on China’s experience dealing with COVID-19 using this integrative approach, and are looking to provide guidance on using TCM to complement the treatment, or if possible - prevent the infection altogether.
